Ryan Brady’s Hoka Hey Charity Ride

Bug Slayer #1213 riding 11,000 miles to bring Christmas magic to children who need it most.

The Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge provides riders with the opportunity to raise funds and awareness for charities of their choosing. To date, riders who have entered the challenge have raised more than $2.5 million for charities across the United States.

Each rider donates their own time, equipment, and personal funds to participate on behalf of the charity of their choice. The challenge must be completed without assistance such as electronic navigation devices or the comforts of traditional lodging and protection from the elements. It is a test of dedication, endurance, hardship, and sacrifice — undertaken in service to those who face hardship of their own.

Start Date: August 2

Distance: 11,000 miles

Goal: Complete the challenge in 12 days

Our Approach

For 30 years, Northwest North Pole Adventures has brought together hundreds of volunteers, businesses, donors, and community partners around a single shared belief: every child deserves to experience wonder.

Each holiday season, children from across the Inland Northwest are welcomed into a world of Magic, Joy, and Belief through Spokane Fantasy Flight — a fully immersive North Pole experience where every child is paired with their own Santa-selected elf and surrounded by an entire community dedicated to making them feel seen, valued, and loved.

For one extraordinary day, they are reminded that they matter, that hope is real, and that magic exists.

Our Story

It started in 1997 with a rumor from the North Pole.

December, as it turns out, is an extremely busy time of year up there — so Santa asked his sisters to help identify children across the Spokane and Coeur d'Alene regions who needed the magic of Christmas most. Children facing hardship. Children whose glow of hope and belief had dimmed.

As luck would have it, Santa's sisters worked as gate agents at the Spokane airport. With the help of community partners, local agencies, and an army of willing volunteers, they began gathering those special children for a journey unlike any other.

What started as a small act of community love grew into one of the region's most beloved holiday traditions. In 2007, Alaska Airlines answered Santa's call with a larger sleigh — a plane — to carry more children north. In 2009, Northwest North Pole Adventures was formally established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, ensuring the mission could carry forward for generations to come.

Today, Spokane Fantasy Flight brings together hundreds of volunteers, businesses, and organizations each year to create an unforgettable North Pole adventure — filled with elves, reindeer, laughter, and memories that last a lifetime.
